Who Can Attend: USU students in any major are welcome to attend!
Frequency: The Idea and Metal Factories each hold one workshop per month.
Reservations: Must be made at least 24 hours in advance. You should receive an email confirmation within one hour of registering.
Required Trainings (when applicable): Must be completed at least 24 hours in advance
Dress Code: To use the machines, you're required to wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and short-sleeved, non-loose shirts. Long hair must be tied up and jewelry must be removed while you operate the machines.

Workshop Permit RequirementsAll workshops require at least a Blue Permit. However, certain Metal Factory workshops may also recommend or require a Red or Green Permit. Below is an overview of the permits:
Blue Permit
Training: ~10-minute online training
Access: All equipment in the Idea Factory and hand tools in the Metal Factory
Red Permit
Training: ~25-minute online training
Access: Power tools in the Metal Factory
Green Permit (Must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance)
Training: ~75-minute in-person training
Access: Mills and lathes in the Metal Factory (Additional training is required for access to specific equipment.)
